The ScanMaker 9800XL delivers an A3-size scan area with the latest scanner specifications.

Thelarge 17" x 12" scanning area combines with a very high 1600 x 3200 dpiresolution to cover almost all reflective scanning requirements. Theoptional transparency adaptor offers a very large 16" x 12" scan areaand the maximum density of 3.7 Dmax captures huge amounts of subtlehighlight and shadow details, with accurate colour values, thanks tothe 48-bit CCD sensor and the inclusion of multi-sampling. Thetransparency adaptor option also includes a set of film templates for35mm slides, 35mm strips, medium format film and 5" x 4" film. Extraholders can be purchased too, making this the perfect scanner forproducing large contact sheets with the ability to deliver high qualityfinal scans too.

To cover most connectivity requirements, twointerface options are included as standard, FireWire and USB 2.0.Better than ever, a FireWire and an USB cables are also included.

TheScanMaker 9800XL includes a powerful software suite which may includeAdobe Photoshop Elements, LaserSoft SilverFast Ai Pro, ABBYY FineReaderSprint OCR and InterVideo MediaOne Gallery. Windows users can alsobenefit from the ScanWizard Pro Network Scanning solution that allowsseveral PCs to share this scanner over a local area network.

Microtekprovides an optional software--SilverFast Ai 6, which is theprofessional scanning package that combines ease of use, quality andproductivity. Version 6 adds full Mac OS X native support (it isWindows XP and Adobe Photoshop 7 compliant too), scratch and dustremoval, grain reduction, NegaFix and colour restoration.
